About Jamie

Jamie completed his undergraduate studies at Trinity College Dublin in Ireland, where he obtained a BA degree in Medicinal Chemistry. His final year research project was inorganic based and focused on molybdenum based catalysts for allylic trifluoromethylation.

Jamie has now decided to pursue his interest in chemical research and broaden his knowledge by undertaking a PhD in Electrochemistry at the University of Greenwich. He hopes to develop new batch and flow photoelectrochemical methods to electrogenerate and photodecompose diazo compounds in situ to produce carbenes, minimising the risks by keeping their concentration close to zero during the process.

An interesting fact about Jamie is that he is a world-renowned Irish dancer!
